Tianjin, May 2nd (Xinhua) - With the acceleration of energy transformation, more and more enterprises are purchasing and using green electricity in China, extending to the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, and making contributions to low-carbon development.
Green electricity usually refers to electricity with zero or near zero carbon dioxide emissions during the production process, which has a relatively low impact on the environment. In recent years, trading and using green electricity has become a new trend.
On March 6th, State Grid Tianjin Electric Power staff conducted a layout analysis of new energy vehicle piles using the Tianjin New Energy Vehicle Charging Facility Comprehensive Service Platform. Not long before the release of Xinhua News Agency, Tianjin Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. achieved comprehensive energy transformation with the help of State Grid Tianjin Electric Power. "After the renovation and upgrading, the annual energy cost alone has been directly reduced by half," said He Zengxiao, Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection at Tiangang.
One part of the comprehensive energy transformation is the development and utilization of clean energy. "The daily electricity consumption of the steel rolling heating furnace is 30000 kilowatt hours. Now that photovoltaic power generation is connected, it can account for 25% of the total electricity consumption. It saves 3000 tons of standard coal, reduces carbon emissions by 8600 tons, and saves 2 million yuan in electricity costs annually, which has played a huge role in improving our efficiency." Wang Huichao, Deputy Plant Manager of Tiangang Bar Factory, introduced.
"As of the end of March 2024, the installed capacity of renewable energy in China reached 1.585 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 26%, accounting for approximately 52.9% of China's total installed capacity. Among them, the sum of wind and photovoltaic power generation exceeded 1.1 billion kilowatts." At a recent press conference held by the National Energy Administration, Pan Huimin, Deputy Director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Department, said that China's installed capacity of renewable energy continues to achieve new breakthroughs.
In November last year, under the guidance of Tianjin Electric Power Trading Center, energy efficiency solution provider Danfoss Group signed a 10-year green power procurement contract with State Grid (Tianjin) Comprehensive Energy Service Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Yinghua New Energy Technology Development Co., Ltd. On January 1 of this year, Danfoss officially achieved full green power supply in Wuqing Park, Tianjin. The park used a total of 1.04 million kilowatt hours of green electricity in the first quarter, reducing 6300 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and achieving remarkable results.
On April 18th, State Grid (Tianjin) Comprehensive Energy Service Co., Ltd. signed a long-term green power procurement contract with TIANJIN RUIXIN TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD and Tianjin Yinghua New Energy Technology Development Co., Ltd. With the support of Danfoss Group, Xinhua News Agency's upstream device supplier TIANJIN RUIXIN TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTDhas also joined the team of green power users. Driven by State Grid (Tianjin) Comprehensive Energy Service Co., Ltd., Ruixinchang Technology and Tianjin Yinghua New Energy Technology Development Co., Ltd. have reached a long-term green power cooperation agreement, with an estimated annual green power trading capacity of 13 million kilowatt hours, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 8000 tons.
Dai Jian, General Manager of Danfoss (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., said, "Danfoss is committed to promoting the application of green electricity in upstream and downstream supporting enterprises based on the efficient and comprehensive utilization of energy and green development of the enterprise, thereby achieving green and low-carbon development throughout the entire industry chain of the group."
Zhang Jianhai, Chief Economist of State Grid (Tianjin) Comprehensive Energy Service Co., Ltd., said, "We hope to create a green typical demonstration of a high-end energy efficiency equipment industry chain, promote and replicate it in more industries, and achieve the scale and industrialization promotion of green electricity."
Currently, some regions in China have proposed plans to increase the use of green electricity. For example, Beijing has released the "Beijing Renewable Energy Substitution Action Plan (2023-2025)", which proposes to accelerate the promotion of renewable energy substitution in key areas, regions, and industries, focus on expanding the scale of market-oriented application of green electricity, and strive to achieve a responsibility weight of about 25% for the consumption of renewable energy in the city by 2025.
Experts point out that vigorously developing renewable energy and promoting green electricity consumption has become a consistent action in global response to climate change and promoting green and low-carbon transformation. It is an important measure to ensure national energy security and reduce energy dependence on foreign countries. It is of great significance for adjusting industrial structure and promoting transformation and upgrading.
